Just A Few Things

Well first up I better show you my sack I received from Lisa at Lydia's Treasures for the Santa Sack Swap. Though I received it a couple of months ago I kept on forgetting to blog a piccie of it.  So here it is

and look  I got two months of gifts this month too.

Also over at the Craftlovers forum I participated in a Candlemat Swap and here is what Kimba sent me.
You can read about what I sent here on a previous post.
Love the Xmas theme.

I also in the last couple of weeks received my OASS gift.  I feel so lucky.  I got some lovely material, a mug rug, clip purse and a stuffed heart in lovely flowery material.  My partner was Donna from Donna's Lavender Nest so go on over and have a look at her blog.

I also have sent and received some more hexagons this month in the Craftlovers Forum swap.
This time round I had to send to Lynette and she asked for any colour with a white centre. So I sent her this purple one.

I was lucky enough to get Sandy again this month and she sent me this lovely red one.

And Monika being on to it has made all her hexis and sent this one on to me already.

Then over at QBSA Leena Sent me this lovely Pinwheel block. Love the Civil War fabric.

Finally my parcel has arrived from the Fat Quarter Shop. I wonder who is going to get something made out of it for Chooky Blue's Secret Santa Swap 2012?

OASS Spring

I have finished and about to send off my OASS item to my partner.  The theme this time was Spring, and I thought instantly of daffodils, so made this cushion with daffodils as the hexis petals.

OASS - Spring

The little daffodil is a brooch which is sold in support of New Zealands annual Daffodil Day on August 31st.  I always support this and buy at least one daffidol every year.

You can read about Daffodil Day HERE

Best Wishes

Winter OASS And A Teatime Swap Too

Again I participated in the Once A Season Swap (OASS) and this time the theme was Winter.  I anticipated this swap early so before the sign up was done I started on and finished it.
I was lucky to get the co-ordinator of the swap, Cheryll this time too.

I was lucky enough to receive these lovely items in the mail from Cheryll, minus the frangipani scented sachet that was in another room in use.  The scarf Miss 16 has tried so many times to claim it, but alas is not able to, though I have caught her once in the car with it wrapped around her neck on a cold day and quickly claimed it back.
Thankyou Cheryll. Love them all.

For Cheryll I knitted this scarf and hope it will keep her nice and warm. I am amazed Miss 16 didn't try and claim this one too....lol.

I also gave her this Soup cookbook keeping in the theme of Winter.  Soup and winter go hand and hand and Alison Holst is a great cookbook author and has many simple recipes.  I have many of her cookbooks in my kitchen, though not this one yet, which will have to be remedied.

Also over at Our Craft Forum we have recently had a swap themed 'Teatime".  I heard today that my partner has received her swap and her one is on it's way to me.
I made a Tea Cosy and little Egg Cosies for her and slipped into the package at the last moment a tea bag holder which didn't make it into the photos.

The pattern for the tea cozy was a real easy tutorial from Thisltledown Cozies and you can get the tutorial HERE

Enjoy

Finishes and A Couple of Swaps To Join

Well Easter has been and gone, and I got a lovely hollow Easter egg from my hubby which I was good and only ate half off then let him have the rest.  Being Easter I joined up to a swap over at Our Craft Forum with the theme being Easter of course.  I made Colette this lovely wall hanging stitched with Cottage Garden Threads I have recently acquired from Norma over at her shop.

Easter Swap sent to Colette

Then from Guliana I received this lovely bunny.  She is gorgeous and in her little basket are some cute eggs Guliana has sewn up

There are a few swap sign ups at the moment happening around blogland.
Click on each of the pictures to get to their respective pages.  You never know, you may get me as your partner.

Quilting Mumma is holding a Mug Rug swap and sign ups close on the April 16th

Lydias Treasures is having a Colour Swap and sign ups close April 21st

And only today the OASS sign ups has opened again for the Winter Swap and close on April 26th

Off swaps now.  Last year in the mail I received from Bev over at Kainga Happenings three lovely machine embroidered pieces.  When I got them a few things went through my head what to do with them.  First was a wall hanging, then cushions, back to wall hangings, then back to cushions.  I had material to do both.

Well finally I decided cushions and last weekend I added the inner borders on them and before doing the outer borders lined them up side by side and instantly thought table runner.

And finally, over the Easter period and the days leading up to it Mother Nature unleashed her fury onto us here in Gisborne again.  There have been some major road washouts in the country side and travel was difficult getting out of the East Coast, especially down to the Hawkes Bay.  I did get some photos but did not want to get out of the car to get to many as it was very very wet.
The first two photos were taken of the river in the morning.  The rest were taken about 1 hour from high tide in the afternoon

One Xmas Item A Month, OASS & Some Blocks

Finally finish my items.  I started them a few weeks ago then lost my mojo and put them aside, but today they are finished.  This time I made 3 Charming ornaments and found the pattern here at A Spoonful Of Sugar.  Though they took me a while to finish they are nice and easy to make.

(Trying to take the picture was a bit hard as every time I thought I had it right a breeze came up!!!!)

I have also made my item for my partner for the OASS swap.  I am sending to Peta over at Just Crafting My Day Away.  For her a made this basket.  I had made this pattern before in another swap so thought to do it again.  If you would like to make one just head over to Geta's Quilting Studio. Will be posting away tomorrow.

Then over at Our Craft Forum I am participating in the 2012 Monthly Block Sampler Experience and we got sent our first block at the start of the month.  This month  it was the Baby Bud Block chosen by Jeanette and here is my one finished

Baby Bud Block

And finally, this month for the Australian Block Swap I sent to Cate and one of the blocks she requested was Square in square. Her colours were green, orange and turquoise so a made her this one.  Hope she likes it.
