FNSI Results

Well I am sitting here typing this and watching the New Zealand Black Caps play the West Indies (who have just lost their 8th wicket ...yay)  in the quarter finals of the 2015 Cricket World cup.  I think after watching New Zealands batting innings that Martin Guptill must be one of the best batsman in the world.....237 not out..... well I currently think he is the best!!!  The second highest ever in a World Cup and 5th all time highest ever.  With him and Brendon McCullum New Zealand are a formidable force.  New Zealand have never made it to a final, just the semis ...... Is this the year they do, fingers and toes crossed here

Anyway on to FNSI results.  I was quite busy last night stitching away on my Natures Journey blocks.  I am a month behind but am making progress in catching up.

These are my background fabrics and there is a lovely Tilda fabric in with these.  Can you guess which one?

I cut my squares out and traced the circles and squares on them

I have now blanket stitched the first months and just to applique them now.  A skill I am not that great on yet.

And finishing writing this up, and other wicket has been lost,  West Indies are 221-9.  Such a great game.

LGS Funtimes

I meet some lovely ladies on my trip to Brisbane for Lets Get Stitched and I actually forgot to get a picture of my roomie so maybe next year... sorry Helen.

Some of these photos are stolen from the Lets Get Stitched FB page where the lovely Shez has put many on and if you go on over to her blog you will see many more.  As you can see she is photobombing me and Michelle Ridgway having a pic taken.

The Naked Whiskey Bar was an eye opener on the Saturday night and a fun time had by all over the whole weekend.

 Friday and Saturday night

Sunday Stitching day

and a big happy birthday to my daughter Kristen who is 19years today.  She is down south on a field exercise so I am sure she is having plenty of fun.

LGS Brisbane Goodies

Now here to show the goodies I was given, won and bought when in Brisbane for Lets Get Stitched.

While on the lovely bus trip on the Friday I bought a few patterns and kits, and was also given the Buttons and Threads booklet by Nikki Tervo when we visited her shop.  Obviously I bought a few of her patterns there too.

On the stitching day on Sunday we got a pack that had even more patterns in there by our lovely hosts and designers.  Along with this I also was lucky enough to buy some patterns from Michelle Ridgway.  She was the lovely lady who made my badge and also gave me a copy of her Quilt labels pattern pamphlet.

The patterns our lovely designers for the stitching day supplied with starter kits/small projects.

The starting of Cheryl Goss's Teatime for two

Of course I had to get some kits to go with the patterns our designers gave us

In our packs we also got some lovely bits and bobs.  Can you see it is in Hobart next year.  My accommodation is already booked.

and a mug to commemorate the weekend this year

I also won some fabric on the day .... just have to find a project for it now, but bag comes to mind.

A new charm pack was had on the Friday night in the Charm pack game and this is going towards a table runner.

I also had to get these lovely rabbit ornies which were for sale on the day too.

Material was bought on the bus trip.... not lots, but enough.  I only had 1kg left on my luggage flying back, but thinking about it I could have had carry on too.

Some lovely Tilda from Faires in My Garden

The Quilters Store I could have gone bersek in but just the lovely green and some French General.

Some fabric also bought at Nikki Tervos store

And just a few stitching essentials.

Lets Get Stitched Is Over For Another Year

In the weekend I made a trip across the ditch and went to Brisbane for the annual "Lets Get Stitched". This year Joy from JoyPatch organised it and what a great event it was and here are all the lovely ladies who went.

I still have not taken photos of all the stuff I bought home with me so will leave that for another post but here are some pictures of the great time we had.

This was my lovely name badge for the Friday bus tour.  The lovely Michelle Ridgway of RagTag Stitchin' made this for me.  Isn't it adorable

Then after so many years knowing each other on the internet I finally got to me the lovely Vicki from the Pickledish Patch who was also one of the lovely hosts.

Pizza Night was on Friday ....yum yum

On Saturday I meet up with my sister as we had a free day so went down to South Bank and saw a few places like the Art Gallery and Museum.  We also went walking up and down and I had to take some pictures of Central Brisbane across the river.

The debate still rages ..... it the Pavlova Aussie or NZ.  For me it is a NZ icon.

Lunch was yummy along Grey Street

And here is the nephew when we got back to the hotel I was staying at.

On the Saturday night we went and had tea at the Naked Whiskey Bar.  Boy was it entertaining when we walked in.

The steak I had was huge but nice,  I didn't finish it all but nearly did.  800 grams of it.

Cake time to celebrate five years of Lets Get Stitched

A lovely weekend had and next year I will be back in Hobart for it. Accommodation already booked....yay.

Watch for my next post on all the other fun we had along with the goodies I cam home with.
