Giveaway Time

Yay!!! I have over 100 followers now, 118 to be exact, so time for a giveaway to celebrate.  I will be giving away a fat quarter and 3 DMC cottons as pictured below.

Now what is the bird on the fabric you may ask when you have scrolled down to view.  It is a New Zealand Pukeko which is native to our country.  There are many around and over here we have a lot items made that have these birds on them.

The Pukeko, or New Zealand Swamp Hen is a member of the rail family, and is similar to other species found all over the world. It is one of the few New Zealand native birds to have flourished since the arrival of man, and can be found in almost any grassland area, especially in swampy locations. Groups will often be seen foraging for food in road-side areas

So to enter the giveaway all you have to do is be a follower of my blog. Just leave me a comment to say if you are.  Please also ensure there is a way I can email you as if you don't I will have to redraw.  Also only one comment per person please.

I will leave this open until June 8th, New Zealand time.

Lots Coming In The Mail

The mailman has been dropping of a few goodies lately.

First is some lovely material from Susan in South Africa. I sent over some magazines I didn't need and she sent me this back.  Aren't I lucky.

Then from my favourite online store The Fabric Shack I received some lovely Civil War fabric for my quilt I am making.  Yummy!!

Then Shirlwin from Our Craft Forum received some material and amongst it was some Civil War fabric.  She asked if I wanted it and of course I did. Thankyou.

Then at work some of us girls ordered name badges from Karyn Flanagan and this is what I received. Cute eh.  Patients are calling me by my name more and not just nurse or asking me who I am due to offical id names being quite small writing.

And of course I have a couple of giveaways I have won coming at the moment and also waiting on another order of Civil War fabrics to come from Autumn Rose Quilting

I have also been in a little swap with a few ladies here in New Zealand.  First time I have done one in NZ too.  I made a scented heat pad and a little coaster for my partner. Hopefully receiving it today.

Don't forget I am having a little giveaway and will be in town to get a little bit of it today, so keep an eye out for it.

Designer Swap

So another swap completed with Our Craft Forum.  This time it was a Designer Swap.  We had to make something from a choice of two designers and I choose Bronwyn Hayes.  I found a pattern in an early Country Threads magazine I have and adapted the stitchery into a Cushion Cover. This was sent to Quiltn'sandy

From Norma I received this cute Coin Purse.  No more loose change at the bottom of my hangbag.  Isn't it adorable.

Can't forget Snowy either.  Here he is at 7 months old.  I had to give him a head trim as I found a matt that I could not brush out.  Still gorgeous though.

No photo this time as still on my camera, but we went to the Auckland / Counties Manukau Trampoline Championships last weekend. Was a long drive as decided not to fly.  Kristen, in the 15-16yr age group again came home with Gold and Silver.  This time Gold in Individual Trampoline and Silver in Double-Mini and narrowly missing out on winning it by 0.2. Syncro she was fourth after nearly winning it but a costly mistake lost the Gold for her and her partner.  However she is over the moon about the individual gold.  She said she didn't care about anything else after winning that one. It was the highlight of her weekend.

What a Wedding And A Fantastic Basketball Game

It was a lovely wedding and the bride was gorgeous.  I stayed up and watched most of it only falling asleep for about half an hour but didn't miss the important parts, especially the not only one but two kisses.

The offical wedding photos are fantastic too.  They look so great together.

And also on the same night the New Zealand Breakers played the Cairns Taipans and won the Australian NBL Grand Final.  Well done boys.

There was a lot of flicking between the channels to watch both the wedding and the game

Now to the sewing.  I have started and completed my first block for The Civil War Love Letter Quilt.  This block is called The Secession Ball.  So one down and 120 to go.
