Natures Journey Part 2 Done .....Finally

Well you can't see half my kitchen table as I have my Natures Journey stuff all over it.  If I left it in the sewing room it would not sit and look at me all day to move me along.

So I have finally finished March and half way there with April

I have come to yet another conclusion me, points and circles do not get along.

Natures Journey Part One

Here are my February blocks as part of the stitch-along I am in, completing Anni Downs Natures Journey. I have not trimmed them yet and do not look to closely at the applique. This is a learning adventure for me and I just can not get those hearts right, but I have now got some of that semi-water soluble applique paper to help me on my applique journey.

I call the wonky applique my personal touch and those words that come out off my mouth are also part of getting that personal touch .... haha.

I have started March but have run out of thread for my blanket stitch which I am using Blue Wren from Cottage Garden Threads but they are on order.

FNSI Results

Well I am sitting here typing this and watching the New Zealand Black Caps play the West Indies (who have just lost their 8th wicket ...yay)  in the quarter finals of the 2015 Cricket World cup.  I think after watching New Zealands batting innings that Martin Guptill must be one of the best batsman in the world.....237 not out..... well I currently think he is the best!!!  The second highest ever in a World Cup and 5th all time highest ever.  With him and Brendon McCullum New Zealand are a formidable force.  New Zealand have never made it to a final, just the semis ...... Is this the year they do, fingers and toes crossed here

Anyway on to FNSI results.  I was quite busy last night stitching away on my Natures Journey blocks.  I am a month behind but am making progress in catching up.

These are my background fabrics and there is a lovely Tilda fabric in with these.  Can you guess which one?

I cut my squares out and traced the circles and squares on them

I have now blanket stitched the first months and just to applique them now.  A skill I am not that great on yet.

And finishing writing this up, and other wicket has been lost,  West Indies are 221-9.  Such a great game.

Christmas Wishes

If you are looking for 'Grow Your Blog' post keep scrolling down or click here

After having a bad year last year I have decided I am going to be good and do a Christmas item once a month, whether it small or big, and I have accomplished something for the month of January .... yay!!

Yes I am also one of those ladies who has joined Chookyblue & Co for the Natures Journey Stitch-a-long this year.  While patterns and fabric are being rushed to every ones doors we have been given a pattern to stitch for the month of January.
This one is Anni Downs Christmas Wishes pattern and it can be found here.
I used Cottage Garden Thread Hugs & Kisses and the material is from Lynette Anderson Designs

Natures Journey & Some Goodies

I have joined up to the Natures Journey Stitch-a-long and today I received my pattern and some other goodies I bought from Patchwork Angel.  It is a lovely pattern just put out by Anni Downs from Hatched and Patched

It is going to be very involved I think and I am definitely going to learn some new skills, but as I say ..... "Bring it on!!"

While ordering the Natures Journey pattern I had to buy some more items .... obviously I could not resist.

Then the weekend just gone, I shot down to Palmerston North, detouring to my parents in Eketahuna first for the night so I could go and have a look at the Quilting Symposium being held currently in Palmerston North.

I had a look around the Merchant Hall and obviously bought up large again, while my Mum and Miss 18 waited outside as it was so hot.

I didn't eventually go to the bigger quilt exhibition, as like I said to my Mum, I saw exactly what I wanted to in the Merchant Hall a Farmers Wife quilt ....plus many others.
