I have been away this weekend at my brothers wedding.  Luckily he had some nice weather which is always dicey in Eketahuna where it was held and they were able to have it my mum's garden.

I am enjoying stitching this series and have just joined up to stitch the Frosty Forest series by Cottage Country Needleworks and there is a blog calledFrosty Forest SAL you can join to show your progress.

This looks like it going to be nice project to do with the first pattern now released.

My SSCS Parcel Has Arrived

Look what arrived a few days ago.

Yes, my SSCS parcel from Sonia at {me} and my thoughts.  It is now sitting under the Christmas tree with Ginda the cat keeping it safe currently.

FNWF Update

Last night I for the first time in a few months joined in with FNWF.  This was the first Friday of the month I have not worked on in a long time as on annual leave currently so could join in. I can already say next months I can not as again working on it and then in February will be away at the Martinborough Fair.

So I had all these plans on what I was going to do and one of them was to finish the current Sheep Virtues cross stitch I am working on.  But what happened? I had the beginnings of a migraine start so my night was short lived.  However I did get a couple of things done before this.

First was my two 6" blocks for the 6"QBSA which are being sent to Jo who has asked for Maple Leaves in autumn colours.

Second was this Log Cabin Block which I am going to make into a cushion. Originally it was suppose to be a block for the CQBSA, but I wrote down the instructions wrong and had 1 1/2" finished strips not 1".

Well that was all I done and my Sheep Virtues cross stitch will be done tonight instead.

Today I have also finished put up my Christmas decorations.  The tree this year we have gone with a red and gold theme.  The kids have always wanted a theme as we just put our many decorations we have collected over the years on to it, along with lots of tinsel.

Also here are a couple of the ornaments I have placed out.  The candle mat in this photo is the one Barb made me which I posted about in my previous post.

I always wanted a Christmas Train and last year I splurged and got this one.  The table runner it is sitting on is a gift I got a few years ago in a swap.

Well I better go and clean up some of the mess I have made and the cat has decided is a good napping place.  Also hubby has just finished pruning the hedge I started early this week and we need to clean that up too.

A Christmas Swap

I am in a number of Christmas swaps currently, with some received or winging there way to my place at the moment.  The first one I am able to show is the swap we had over at Our Craft Forum. 

I sent to Shirlwin and gave her this cute wall hanging.

Then Barb sent me this gorgeous candle mat.  

It is so adorable.

One Xmas Item A Month

Well the last few months I have been working on Xmas items, but not completed any, but some Xmas themed tissue holders last month which I did not get a photo of before they were of on their merry way.  Anyway, this month I have completed a few items, but as they are for a variety of swaps to be opened next month I can not post pictures of them yet, but watch for my swap posts next month at Xmas.

I can say,I can post a finish I have done this month.  Originally it was for a swap but done a boo boo (didn't think when sandwiching) and have kept it for my self.  This is a easy table runner to make and I am sure I will be making more of them in the future.

The pattern is called a Zig Zag Table runner and used one 5" Charm pack.  I watched this tutorial from the Missouri Quilt Company which is excellent.

12" Mini Swap Received

Once again I particpated in Cherylls over at Gone Stitchin' 12" Mini Club Swap

My partner was Maria who I incidentally sent to earlier this year.  The theme this time was 'Flower' and haven't I been lucky to receive this.

Keep an eye out for what I sent my partner in the next few weeks. It is heading over the ocean currently.

Basket Swap Is Complete

Recently I posted what I sent to my partner in the Basket Swap I participated in over at Flickr.  Well mine has arrived from my partner and here is what she sent me.  I am so lucky.

Years ago my hubby, (well before he was my hubby), encouraged me to go on a Teddy Bear making day.  I went and made a teddy.  I then had plans on making lots, but nearly 20 years down the track I have made now three. 

I am not that great on making them but enjoyed finishing this one finally, though I had specks of crimson fluff on me all the time.  This one was started about three years ago and had been in the cut out stage for a while.  It is all hand stitched.  I have fur for one more teddy so one day may make one again.
